BEFORE BOOKING A PHOTO SESSION

I want to do something different than from what is listed in the 'services' list. Is it possible?

Maybe. Please contact us if you have any specific requests and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.

What locations can you shoot at?

We primarily shoot in central Tokyo, since there are so many wonderful and colorful locations to pick from.

Can we travel outside of central Tokyo for a shoot?

Yes, we can travel as far as you want. We can shoot anywhere in Japan, and can even travel internationally. There will be additional fee(s) to cover transport, travel time, and/or other costs.

How long in advance should I book my shoot?

If our schedule allows, we can arrange the session within a few days. Please feel free to ask our availability.

How do I make a reservation and pay a deposit?

First, send us a message via or contact page tell us what type of shoot you want and what date. We generally respond within 24 hours with our availability. We will also include instructions on how to make a deposit via Paypal.
To reserve your date, a ¥10,000 (about $100US) deposit is required.
Acceptable forms of Payment: Cash or Paypal.
(*Paypal incurs a 3% service charge + international fees = $105 deposit)

Please note that because the deposit secures your booking date, it is non-refundable regardless of circumstances. In the case of severe weather beyond anyone’s control we will refund the deposit. Thank you for your understanding.

What is the payment schedule like?

The rest of the balance is due the day of the photo shoot. Acceptable forms of payment are: Cash (Japanese Yen) or Paypal.
*Photos will not be edited until the remainder of the balance has been settled.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

Please see our Cancellation & Refund section below.

AFTER A BOOKING HAS BEEN MADE/BEFORE A SHOOT

Can you help me pick the location and time?

We are happy to help. Japan is rich with natural landscapes, gardens, cityscapes, and premier world heritage sights. Depending on your interests/season, we can help pick the best location for your photo session.

Do you offer hair and make-up services?

Unfortunately no, but we can make some recommend after a booking/deposit with us is made.

What should I wear?

This depends on the type of photo shoot we will be doing.

If we’re doing a portrait shoot, wear something that expresses the mood you are going for. In the case of kimono shoots, the only limit is what the shop has.

If we are doing Vacation/Photo walk, you should wear what’s normal for you. Being comfortable is important, since there will be some walk and lots of standing. Clothing you feel confident in is also important.

The clothing you choose can really add something interesting to a shoot, and help you stand out. Keep that in mind.

If we photographing 2 or more people, consider what the group will be dressed like.

Consider the season, as this will help with choosing colors and themes.

What should I bring?

It is best to bring as little as possible since it might be difficult to find a place to store bags. The photographer will NOT be able to carry any of your items since they have camera equipment to look after.

What if it's raining or snowing the day of the shoot?

In this case, we try to play things by ear. We do our very best to make a shoot happen. This might prevent us from shooting out in the opened. If it is just light rain or flurries, we will try to shoot with umbrellas and using sheltered spots. If the rain or snow is heavy, we will be forced to either shot indoors or to reschedule for another day.

When should I arrive to my photo shoot?

Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before your shoot start time so we can meet each other, get acquainted, and talk about our photo shoot goals!

What if I'm late for the photo shoot?

Our shoots are set-up so we meet 10 minutes before the official start time. We do this so we have a few minutes to relax and talk over any details of the photo session. It also functions as short window for unforeseen lateness. If you are late, unfortunately the time is taken away from the shooting time. Extra time can always be purchased, schedule permitting. It is best to aim to be on time.

How can I contact you if I will be late, get lost, or can't find the meeting place?

After booking, we will make sure you have all our personal contact information. You will have the option of calling us, e-mailing us, or reaching out to us on Facebook.

Who is responsible to pay for transportation fees?

Any and all transportation fees are the responsibility of the client. The transpiration fees from the photographer’s home to the shoot location(s) and back will be added up on top of the package fees. Transportation fees are usually around ¥1000 (about $10US).

Who is responsible to pay for entrance fees?

If the location(s) you want your shoot at has an entrance fee, you are required to pay your own entrance fee as well as the entrance fee for the photographer (and any crew required for the shoot). There are many free temples and gardens, but for ones that require a ticket to enter, cost ranges from around ¥400 to ¥1000.

What if I want the photo shoot to last longer?

As with most things, it may be possible, but depends on our schedule. Rates are listed on the Services page.

AFTER YOUR PHOTO SHOOT

Do you 'touch-up' the photos from our shoot?

Yes, this is part of service you have paid for. We do color correction, alteration to black and white/monochrome, and minor distraction removal. Major Digital Enhancements, for example removing of people or cars, is not part of the service package. This type of service is labor intensive and time consuming. If a client would like a Major Digital Enhancement, we can disuse how much it will cost on a case by case basis.

How do you deliver the photos?

We use digital data transfer via the web. When your photos are ready, you will receive an e-mail with a link.

Do you make physical prints?

Sorry, we do not offer that kind of service at this time. We give our clients high resolution JPEGs. There are plenty of places in Japan and aboard that can make prints for you.

Do you give RAW files?

Like most photography professional, we do NOT give out RAW files.

Is there a way to receive the data besides downloading online?

We can mail the photo data by saving them onto USB memory or Blu-Ray Disk. This is an optional service costing ¥4,000 ($40US) which includes shipping within Japan. International shipping will cost around ¥5,500 ($55US). Please ask for quotes for overseas shipping.

When will we receive out photos?

Normally we will have your photos ready in about 2 weeks; however during certain seasons, like during cherry blossoms, it might take long because of the high demand. We do offer expedited processing, for additional cost. In the case of expedited processing, we can get digital prints out to you in 1-2 days.

Will images be used on your website or in your portfolio?

Most likely, yes. Our business depends on creating and sharing new work. We often write blog posts or update the portfolio section of the website with our favorite shots. We do NOT mentioned names, to protect your privacy.

Can I share the photos on social media?

Absolutely! But please don’t forget to tag us!
