Gregor was born in New York and from an early time in his life he fell in love with photography and film. He spent his high school years shooting 35mm film on a beat-up manual Minolta SLR that he found in the closet of his childhood home. Throughout university he worked in a photo lab and as a film projectionist. He earned his Bachelor of Science majoring in Cinema & Photography (minoring in Sound Design).
After graduating, he worked for Maysles Film in NYC and honed his documentary-style photography. He focused much of his energy on being able to globe-trot and doing travel photography.
After several years of doing the work grind he decided to give it all up, move out of the United States, and start traveling and living abroad full time. He’s spent the last decade and half living internationally and working as a freelance photographer.
Gregor has a cool tone preference, grading photos more towards the blue end of the color spectrum.
Naomi was born in Shizuoka. As a child she excelled in the fields of art and music. She went to university in Ishikawa where she majored in history.
After graduating she took a job in a printing company where she became a proof reader.
Naomi doesn’t hit the pavement for hard hitting photos. She is more of a casual shooter, assisting Gregor if he needs it when out on assignment. Rather, she is more behind the scenes, running the business end of things. She is a great colorist and she spot checks all the photos for quality control.
Naomi has a strong warm tone preference. Her main job is making sure Gregor isn’t coloring everything too blue.
Plus, she is the only person on our team that can fly a helicopter.
