Gregor was born in the United States and from an early time in his life he fell in love with photography and film. He spent his high school years shooting 35mm film on a beat-up manual Minolta SLR that he found in the closet of his childhood home. Throughout university he worked in a photo lab and as a film projectionist. He earned his Bachelor of Science majoring in Cinema & Photography (minoring in Sound Design).

After graduating, he worked for Maysles Film in NYC and honed his documentary-style photography. He focused much of his energy on being able to globe-trot and doing travel photography.

After several years of doing the work grind he decided to give it all up, move out of the US, and start traveling and living abroad full time. He’s spent the last two decade plus living internationally, teaching, creating videos for YouTube, and working as a freelance photographer.
